Built around tenor sax player Dana McWayne drummer Alden McWayne (pictured above L-R), the Brooklyn sibling band arrives supporting Papa’s Boat, a 51-minute collection of smooth jazz and indie-pop that dips into reggae and bossa nova, too. Recorded in London last year, the 15-track outing was inspired by the McWayne’s grandpa, who would adventure on a boat named “Sŵn y Môr” (Welsh for “Sound of the Sea,” according to Concord). “I think so much of what Alden and I are doing comes from just watching him live his own unique life,” Dana said in promotional materials. Alden agrees. “His emboldened, passionate personality gave us permission to be our own selves, to be unconventional and draw outside of the box.” Tickets to see Dana and Alden play the music hall at New World T
